 After graduating from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science, Jason E. Tremont continued his education at the University of Baltimore School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate, cum laude. Since joining Tremont & Sheldon, Mr. Tremont has litigated all types of personal injury claims including general auto collision cases, premises liability cases, uninsured motorist cases as well as those involving wrongful death, police chases, medical malpractice, and burn injuries. A major focus of his practice has been obtaining multimillion dollar global settlements for individuals who were the victims of childhood sexual abuse by clergy members. His fields of concentration also include medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and product liability cases. He was listed by Connecticut Super Lawyers in 2006 and 2007 in the category of plaintiff's personal injury.
Mr. Tremont has been associated with the firm since 1987 and was named a partner in 1998. He is presently a member of the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association serving as a member of the Medical Malpractice Committee for that organization. Mr. Tremont has lectured in the State at seminars on the topics of trial practice and personal injury. Mr. Tremont also sits as a Special Master for the State Judiciary and has been selected as an Arbitrator in numerous claims.
Admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Connecticut, Mr. Tremont is also a member of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association, where he serves as Chair of its Litigation Section, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
